about

Driving epic rock feel, with western country/East Indian violin fusion; about growing up north of Lake Superior.
I figured since I received a Northern Arts grant from the Ontario Arts Council to record this album, I should write a song about growing up in the north.

lyrics

Picking blueberries down by the river
And then we’d go for a swim
Watching all the funny shapes in the clouds
As they rolled by
And the trees looked like they were falling from the sky.

Laughing spinning round and round
And the world looked like it was falling upside down
Easy living, marbles and mud pie
Lying in a field, or chasing dragonflies.

CHORUS:
Growing up in Thunder Bay
Northern Life Northern Way

In our fort, smoking our first cigarette
Oh my my my did we get sick
Got caught by my big bad brother
Who threatened to tell our big bad mothers.

CHORUS. CHORUS.
